Peterborough Examiner | Joanne Culley

The Kawartha Potters Guild, 993 Talwood Dr. will be hosting the YWCA Peterborough Haliburton’s 17th Annual Empty Bowls fundraising event on March 12, March 13 and March 14 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily, with time slots available for visitors in half-hour increments. There will be plenty of free parking.

“Several hundred beautiful handmade bowls created by our guild’s members will be available as well as coupon cards with generous discounts from more than 14 local restaurants,” says Lillian Forester, past chair. “Customers can choose a day and time to make their selection, with six ticket holders inside at one time and all COVID protocols in place.”

Tickets are available on the YWCA website at www.ywcapeterborough.org or by phoning 705-743-3526 at $40 each. Proceeds from the event go to YWCA’s Nourish Food Program to prevent and relieve hunger in our community. Empty Bowls, which has been running for many years, is organized by artists and craftspeople around the world to care for and feed the hungry in their communities.
