Thrive Hive – Women’s Well-Being Program

What if we could prevent violence before it happens?

What if girls and boys were able to clearly recognize what healthy relationships look and feel like in all areas of their lives? And what if they felt empowered to take action, should things start to go off course?

The Thrive Hive Program supports women and children by providing programming aimed at strengthening self-efficacy through weekly capacity building sessions with Family Support Workers, other community agencies and peer supports. Programs are framed in models of peer training, EDI (equity, diversity and inclusion), life skills, literacy, and technology sufficiency.

The Thrive Hive Family Support Worker supports women and children at our Crossroads Shelter and at our Centennial Crescent Housing Community by providing empowering, supportive, and age-appropriate well-being activities, programming, and supportive counselling. The Family Support Worker focuses on the child(ren)’s or family unit’s self-identified needs and goals.

Thrive Hive offers parenting support for women with and without children in their care/custody. The intake covers a wide range of parenting related topics such as:

  • Mental health support (supportive counselling)
  • Conflict Resolution Skills
