Bequests – Gifts in Your Will
A charitable bequest is a lasting statement of your generosity, your values and the way you have cared for our community. It’s a gift that you and your family can be proud of.
Charitable bequests are the most commonly received legacy gift.
Bequests are also very easy to arrange with the help of your lawyer, they allow you to make a larger impact than you may have been able to in your lifetime, and they don’t reduce your cash flow or savings today. Your estate will also receive important tax benefits, ultimately providing the most value possible for your beneficiaries and heirs.
Your Bequest Options:
- Residual Bequests name YWCA Peterborough Haliburton as the beneficiary of all, or a percentage, of your estate.
- Specific Bequests designate an exact dollar amount or percentage to be donated to YWCA Peterborough Haliburton.
- Contingent Bequests take effect when you name YWCA Peterborough Haliburton as an alternate beneficiary. Your gift is given to the YWCA only if other beneficiaries in your Will pass away before your passing.
Please consider sharing your intention to leave a legacy to YWCA Peterborough Haliburton. We can help you plan your legacy so that it will do the most possible good long into the future when it’s received. We would also like to thank you appropriately and offer you meaningful recognition options should you wish.
