Every young person deserves a place where they can feel safe, supported, and empowered to grow. As a result, the Fight for the Future Fund was created to ensure that financial barriers never prevent a young person from accessing the potentially life-changing benefits of combats arts training.
Established by Eastside Boxing and Wellness in partnership with YWCA Peterborough Haliburton, the Fight for the Future Fund aims to provide youth the the opportunity to participate in a structured combat arts program at no cost to their families.
Through boxing and wellness programming, young people can develop confidence, discipline, resilience, self-respect, and healthy coping skills–tools that extend far beyond the gym and into everyday life.
About the Fund
The Fight for the Future Fund was founded in 2025 by Eastside Boxing and Wellness owner Marsha Gaulton, whose own experiences have inspired a commitment to creating accessible opportunities for youth.
“I know what it’s life to need an outlet and to not have the support or access to one. I felt that deeply as a child. Boxing came later in life for me, but it became a place that gave me confidence, self-discipline, and a safe space to release frustration and anger in a healthy way. Every young person deserves that opportunity.”
As a result, powered by community donations, the fund works to provide youth with access to a positive, supportive environment where they can build strength, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
Who is the Fund For?
The Fight for the Future Fund supports youth between the ages of 12 and 16 who would benefit from participation in a boxing program but may face financial barriers to access. The fund specifically supports youth who have experienced, or are currently experiencing the effects of domestic abuse.
