Donating RRSPs or RRIFs

For so many, a gift from your retirement savings – RRSPs (Registered Retirement Savings Plans) or RRIFs (Registered Retirement Income Funds) – can be a win-win situation.  Gifts of leftover retirement funds help reduce the taxes on your estate, protect the estate value for your heirs and also could enable you to make a lasting and profound difference for the thousands of women and children YWCA Peterborough Haliburton helps each year.

Donors can choose to name YWCA Peterborough Haliburton as the beneficiary of all, or a percentage, of your Retirement Savings Plan.  As the owner of your Retirement Savings Plan, you retain full ownership and use of the funds during your lifetime, even if you’ve named YWCA Peterborough Haliburton as beneficiary.

And upon your passing, your estate will receive a donation receipt for the fair market value of the gift, reducing the taxes on your Retirement Savings Plan that are payable.

Please consider sharing your intention to leave a legacy to YWCA Peterborough Haliburton. We can help you plan your legacy so that it will do the most possible good long into the future when it’s received.  We would also like to thank you appropriately and offer you meaningful recognition options should you wish.
