Several food truck operators put their best recipes to the test Saturday for the Food Truck Wars at Farmcrest Marketplace.
Customers could sample the food available and vote for their favourites, with a portion of proceeds going to YWCA programs for women and children, including safe nights at Crossroads Shelter, 24 hour crisis support/line, emergency food boxes and family court support.
Participating food trucks offering breakfast and lunch included Till Death BBQ and Catering, Personal Touch, Trip Taco and Chipmonk Chipper.
The marketplace on Lansdowne Street East, at the Trentwinds site, also featured an early Halloween trick-or-treat event Saturday, encouraging children to wear Halloween costumes.
Farmcrest Marketplace will move indoors for the winter, operating at the Baker’s Hill Banquet Hall at 555 Parkhill Road E. as of Nov. 7 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays. (More photos)
