This year’s YWCA Empty Bowls campaign raised $28,505 for the YWCA Nourish Food Programs, held earlier this month.
The 17th annual event saw participants choosing a bowl at the Kawartha Potters Guild, with COVID-19 measures in place, in return for their donations.
They also received coupon cards with discounts from 19 local restaurants.
“We weren’t sure how the COVID-19 safety measures would impact this year’s event, but the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive,” states Kim Dolan, executive director of YWCA Peterborough Haliburton. “This year’s format really offered the time and space to take in the beauty and craftsmanship of the bowls, while also extending opportunities for local restaurants.”
