On Friday, May 22, 2026, kind community members, volunteers, participants, and YWCA Peterborough Haliburton staff joined together for this year’s Walk a Mile in Their Shoes event!
Here, those in attendance showed visible solidarity for women, children, and gender-diverse individuals who are experiencing and escaping the effects of gender-based violence.
Thanks to the incredible support of the community, we were able to raise an amazing $38,341.71!
This amount is beyond anything we could have hoped for and we are immensely grateful!
To all who participated, who cheered along on the sidelines, who shared the importance of the event, and who resist violence in all its forms in our community, thank you.
We strongly believe in the power of a supportive community, and you are helping to demonstrate this power.
All funds raised in the event will go–this year–towards supporting the programs and services offered to our clients so that they can embark on individualized healing journeys.
