Students building a tree nursery at Rowan Tree Children’s School in Peterborough

The Grade 1/2 class at Rowan Tree Children’s School has been busy building a tree nursery after the school recently received a Climate Action grant.

The students are planting trees locally and selling trees and plants as a fundraiser for the YWCA Peterborough Haliburton.

Founded in 2004, Rowan Tree Children’s School currently offers a preschool program for ages 2.5 to 4 years, plus a nature kindergarten class (4 to 5 years) and a nature elementary program (6 years and up). The school programs run on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with small class sizes. (Read more…)
