National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

Event Date: December 6, 2018

Starts: 5:00 PM Ends: 6:00 PM

Please join us at Peterborough City Hall in honour of the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. Signs, banners and candles welcome. Speakers from various agencies and groups are expected.

Established in 1991 by the Parliament of Canada, December 6th marks the anniversary of the murders of 14 young women in 1989 at l’École Polytechnique de Montréal. They died because they were women.

This day provides communities and individuals with an opportunity to speak out against all forms of violence against women and its impact on victims, their families and friends.
