“AON is proud to be a sponsor for the YWCA’s Safe Night’s Sleep Program,” says Sarah Joore, AON Inc., Chairperson, Charitable Donations. “As a local, family-owned business, and a company who is a major employer of women, we felt this was an important program to support.”

Investments in Safe Night’s Sleep directly support vital, yet under-funded, services that protect local women and their children from violence and abuse and provide them with the resources they need to rebuild their lives.

Last year, YWCA shelters provided 9,433 Safe Night’s Sleep for women and children in Peterborough and Haliburton County.

“We see no abatement in the number of women needing our services,” says Jen Cureton, YWCA’s Director of Philanthropy and Communications. “And, unfortunately, the need consistently outpaces the level of government investment we receive. Currently, government funding only covers 61% of our costs. Investments like this one make all the difference to women and children who arrive at our door afraid for their lives. AON’s support will make a significant and long-lasting impact in our community.”

Support from generous investors like AON helps make it possible for the YWCA to continue providing programs and services that help women and children fleeing violence.
