Citizens got a wake up call from the YWCA Monday morning, asking them to open their eyes to domestic violence.
“It’s happening all around us and so many of us don’t realize it,” said Jen Cureton, local YWCA director of philanthropy and communications.
YWCA staff and volunteers delivered sleep masks to businesses and organizations Monday as a symbolic wake up call about the prevalence of violence against women.
“Our goal is to open peoples’ eyes to the violence that is happening to women and children … and let people know that they can make a difference,” Cureton said. (Read more…)
